Santarcangelo hides a mysterious underground history, where cavities, wells, tunnels and galleries form another city beneath the visible one, made up of no fewer than 160 caves.

A guided visit to the monumental public cave (Amati/Contradina) is not to be missed: a journey back in time through a labyrinth-like setting, uncovering ancient legends and exciting tales. If you let yourself be captivated by the evocative atmosphere, your imagination will lead you to envision ancient religious rites and solemn processions.
The visit also includes free access to the casemate in the archaeological area of Piazza Balacchi (subject to limited group size and favorable weather conditions).
